The Belgian-German crime series unfolds its strength through well-portioned drama elements and a horizontal narrative thread

Juliet Dumon (Charlotte De Bruyne) is in her early 30s and works as a police commissioner in Brussels. She grew up in the idyllic small town of De Haan on the Belgian coast, which she left as a teenager.

When her father dies unexpectedly, she returns to her hometown. There she not only has to take care of her father's estate, but also find a new home for her 15-year-old niece Chloé (Amber Naert), whom Juliet's father had looked after until his death.

Juliet and Chloé are suddenly family, but also strangers. For Juliet, it simply seems impossible to reconcile her work as a policewoman with looking after a teenager...

This atmospheric series is mainly set in the beautiful Belle Époque seaside resort of De Haan and the adjacent polder and dune landscape. The water and rugged nature play a special role in the stories.
