The gripping six-part thriller series is a psychologically complex game of confusion in which the boundaries of guilt and innocence, perpetrators and victims, law and justice are constantly blurred.

During a police operation at a hardware store in Wuppertal, police officer Luise Berg (Anne Ratte-Polle) suddenly sees him: Dennis Opitz (Anton Dreger). The man who was convicted of the murder of her then 17-year-old daughter Merle (Josephine Thiesen) has now been released early from prison. Yet she almost didn't recognize him. In the meantime, the formerly overweight, taciturn outsider has become an attractive and self-confident young man. He has apparently used his time in prison to come to terms with his past and is considered rehabilitated. But there are soon doubts about this. As more murders occur, Luise investigates Dennis's dark past and discovers that the seemingly reformed young man is on a vendetta. But no one believes Luise. Not even when she herself and especially her youngest daughter Josi (Lea van Acken) become the focus of Dennis' perfidious plan...

Other roles include Renato Schuch ("Dogs of Berlin"), Dirk Martens ("Kleo"), Ann-Kathrin Kramer ("Die Frau im Meer"), Senita Huskic ("Der Zürich-Krimi"), Claudia Eisinger ("Der Masuren-Krimi") and Maximilian Brauer ("Der Überfall").
